Shortcutz Berlin Special Screening December 10th

Hello everyone!

Another special screening is coming – the last of the year and also the last until further news. Shortcutz Berlin will be on a break in 2016. Keep checking our facebook and page for updates!

As part of our aim to promote the circulation of different short films from the different Shortcutz cities, Shortcutz Lisboa selected 3 shorts for our next screening:

– “Longe do Eden”, by Carlos Amaral – Winner of the Month of October 2014

Synopsis: A survivor travels in search of the last bastion of civilization. Battling to survive, but never losing hope that something nostalgic from the past, which lives on in his memory, might still exist.

– “O Cigano”, by David Bonneville – Winner of the Month of February 2015

Synopsis: The film tells us the story of a wealthy young man called Sebastian. He finds out he has a flat tyre and ends up accepting help from a Gypsy passer-by. In return Sebastian will have to give him a ride home… but they won’t reach their expected destination.

– “Xico e Xana”, by Francisco Falcão – Winner of the Month of June 2015

Synopsis: XICO is a lonely 9 year old kid who just lost his father. He tries to cope with the loss together with his Mother but unfortunately a passion for an older neighbor, XANA, is going to throw things out of balance. A tale about the loss of innocence.

Shortcutz Lisbon was the city where the Shortcutz network was born! It has been promoting Portuguese short films for over 4 years now!

The Special Guest is Cinemagosto FilmFokus Portugal – Berlin, a film festival that promotes Portuguese films in Berlin.
The guest short is:

– “Comando”, by Sonat Duyar

Synopsis: In a losing war for a nameless cause, a soldier is sent to the combat zone to deliver a message from high above to the officer in charge.

The evening will have, indeed, a very portuguese focus. As it all started in Portugal, we thought this would be a nice way to close the cicle and present you all a different last screening.

Please note that the venue is Z-Bar Berlin, in Bergstr. 2. As usual, the event is FREE ENTRANCE.

Looking forwardo to seeing you all there!
