This Week’s Guest Short: “Kurzschluss” by Miriam Frank, Georg Utz & Xaver Xylophon

Synopsis: “Kurzschluss” is a tragic love story and an homage to old Hollywood classics about a melancholic robot who passionately falls in love with a bottle return machine.
Our Special Guest for this week is filmmaker Matthias Fritsch. Matthias’ filmic works focuses on issues of authorship and property, that have recently enjoyed a heightened interest within the context of open distribution channels on the Internet. He traces the potential and boundaries of related cultural practices by way of participation. For our Session Matthias will bring along musicans: Tom Foerderer with electronics and his collegue Jörg Tannenberg on the Guitar and Loopmachine, who will accompany the following three silent shorts: “EggLove”(Birgit Moeller, 3:30min), “Cerini” (Giovanni De Roia, 1:32min) and “Wintersong” (Matthias Fritsch, 6:30min). He will be also shortly talking about some of the platforms that he is involved in: IFN berlin, Open Screenings and Moving Silence.
