This week’s Competition Shorts are:

Short #1: “Stillstand” by Benjamin Teske

Synopsis: Alexander is a young ER resident. After a massacre at a nearby school, his professionalism is put to the test. Not only that he loses a patient for the first time, a little later he comes face to face with the shooter himself. Alexander struggles with his emotions, torn between the demands of his profession and his own instincts and feelings.

Short #2: “Back to Solitude”  by Joschka Laukeninks

Synopsis: A last kiss, a last date, a last look into each other’s eyes.

This Week’s Guest Short: “Der Großvater” by Nikias Chryssos
2010, 20 min
Synopsis: The grandfather is facing death in his mansion. He wants to pass on the stories of his life to his grandson. But when the boy visits, the two meet as strangers.

Our Special Guest for this week are André Werner and Kenton Turk, from Directors Lounge – contemporary art and media,  a cloud of different, independent curated projects to present a wide variety of short, experimental works from many different genres. Directors Lounge will curate for us three works from their program: “Telling Lies” by Simon Ellis, “Untitled #1” by Masha Godovannaya and “Die Augen Der Menschheit” by André Werner. They will also tell us more about the annual film festival: BERLIN INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORS LOUNGE.

Join us at the Filmkunst Bar FitzcarraldoReichenberger Straße 133 in Kreuzberg. The session starts as always at 8:30 pm and the screening at 9 pm. Entrance is and will remain free.
