Shortcutz Berlin – Session #11 (April 14)

This Week’s Competition Shorts are:

Short #1: “Heinrich bringt die Kinder um halb drei” by Hanna Doose
Synopsis: Two girlfriends haven’t seen each other in a long time. Now they meet again, to paint the baby’s room. This day unveils the fragility of their friendship.

Short #2: “Open Your Mouth” by Sabine Jamme
Synopsis: Open Your Mouth is a visual cut up of urban scenes shot in Paris and Berlin, underlined by a witty ambiguous polyglot commentary on (legal) drug use.

Those who missed the screening can relax, Sabine Jamme‘s Open Your Mouth is viewable online on Vimeo.

This Week’s Guest Short: “Get Hooked” by Irene Hernanz
Synopsis: Are you alone? Do you feel alone? If you don’t, the radio can tell you: You will die alone. The only option is “Get hooked”, a radio contest that guarantees finding your half orange in less than a month but… Does it really work?

This very sweet and funny short can also be viewed entirely on Vimeo.

Our Special Guest for this week is Jan Krüger, a film director and a scriptwriter. During the evening he introduced us to his short Freunde, an adaptation of A.M. Homes short story, The Whiz Kids.
